Aseema - Just like the name !

Aseema looked at the photo as she sat by the chair before the mirror. It was the day when he went away from her forever and she never worked on this day in the past but now she had decided to work. She was not sure whether she was right or not . She was flooded with thoughts as she looked into the mirror.

Aseema was born in a family which was below poverty line and it was a big family with 12 members. Her father was a drunkard and spent all his little earnings into drinking. He would do anything to get couple of drinks.Aseema's mother would work in some houses and stitch clothes to look after the family and one of her sisters would work in some houses for money. When such is the case, one of the kids went missing on one fine day and they could never find her. As the family was so big and there were many heads to look after nobody bothered so much to search for the one who went missing. Some said Aseema's father sold the kid for a huge amount of money and ran away with it.Whatever said and done her father never returned home.

As Aseema grew up and learnt the state of her family she decided to take up the responsibilities to help her Mother. Once she decided to do it,there was no second thought. She got involved with her work and never cared about her future.Aseema knew what she wanted to do and therefore she only maintained professional relationship with anybody she came across with. She tried her best not to get emotional with even the finest of men.

As everyone knows, it's not same everytime. There was this man whom she met during one of her professional interactions. She had an opportunity to go out with Angad who had come home on vacation. He was in army and had just come home for couple of weeks. They met ,they spent time and Aseema realised it was not the same with this man. They spoke about each other a lot. Though Aseema took a lot of time to open up,she did tell him about her family. It didn't seem to affect the way he accepted her and she was happy about it.

Due to requirement,Angad had to get back before time and wanted to meet Aseema before he left for the service. They met and Angad finally asked her about spending the rest of the life together. He assured to support her and her family till his last breath.Aseema was speechless, she had much hoped and less expected it to happen. Aseema stopped working once Angad left and sent news to her mother, her mother was very happy for her. They all hoped to set things right once he returned during his next vacation.
Angad never returned alive,Aseema broke. Before she met Angad she was just living but now she was completely lifeless. It took an eternity for her to overcome and now she was all alone again. She resumed work as she still had her responsibilities to take care of. Sometimes,it's the force of responsibilities due to which the person resumes normalities. It had been 5 years now and Aseema never stopped working except on the day when Angad went away from her forever.

Now ,Aseema's sister was getting married and they needed more money at home. She could not exempt even one day as it would be a loss. She didn't want her mother to suffer though she knew nobody knew Aseema even existed. Except for her mother nobody in her family even knew the kid whom their father sold long back was alive and earning for them by fulfulling the dark desires for so long. Just then the door bell rang and Aseema knew who it was. She pulled the drawer, put the photo inside and closed it. Got up,looked into the mirror, brought a smile on the face and walked upto the door .

Good evening Aseema!
